Weather for Today: Sunny and Hot…

Today was a very special day. We had the great privilege of going to Roy Thomson Hall to watch the Toronto Symphony Orchestra rehearse. It was a great opportunity that we had thanks to Ms. Kim, the music teacher here at Maplewood, who made the arrangements for the trip.
We took the Scarborough 86E Bus to Kennedy Station. We got on the Line 2 subway westbound. We got off the train at St. George station and took the Line 1 subway southbound to St. Andrew station. From there we walked to Roy Thomson Hall. We went into the Hall and were shown where we were to watch the rehearsal. The orchestra was practicing for a show that they will be putting on tonight. They practiced two pieces that we saw. The first was a composition by Leonard Bernstein called “ Three Dance Variations from Fancy Free” and the other was by George Gershwin called “Piano Concerto in F” It was an amazing experience.
Here is a video of the rehearsal…
When we had finished watching the rehearsal we walked to the Simcoe Place Food Court to eat our lunch. When we had finished we took Fahim’s advice and decided to take a different route back to school. We walked up to King Street and got on the 504 King Streetcar. We took the streetcar to Broadview Station where we got on the Line 2 subway eastbound. We got to Kennedy Station where we took the Scarborough 86D to Galloway where we walked back to school.
When we got back to school we filled in the Daily Report. We then had a short Mindfulness Meditation sitting.
