Daily Report for Monday November 30th 2015

Weather for Today: Overcast and cold..

Period A: We washed our hands and faces. We then spent the rest of the period making cards for our fund raising project.

As Mr. Wilkens will be away on Wednesday we made our weekly trip to the YMCA today. We took the TTC to the Y where we swam in the pool. After the Y we went to the Food Court at Scarborough Town Centre to eat lunch. We then took the TTC back to school.  

Period D: We did our classroom jobs. We filled in the daily report. We had a skilful Mindfulness Meditation sitting.

Daily Report for Thursday November 26th 2015

Weather for Today: Overcast and Cold…

Period A:WE washed our hands and faces. We colored some pictures that we will using to make the Christmas Cards. We practiced our sales presentation.

Period B: We began with our Mindfulness Minutes. We then did the food prep for our lunch. Myron and Keyur set the table. Emily and Nerissa cut up the potatoes and onions for the home fries. Scottie and Rebeca did the dishes. Scottie also made the pancakes. Fahim made the the OJ and the scrambled eggs.

Period C: We cleaned up the kitchen/classroom. We began practicing for the Festive Assembly. We are going to be singing two Christmas Carols, O Tannenbaum and Feliz Navidad. We got a good start on learning the songs.

Period D: We did our classroom jobs. We filled in the daily report. We had our daily Mindfulness Mediation sitting.

Daily Report for Tuesday November 24th. 2015

Weather for Today: Overcast and Cold…

Period A: We washed our hands and faces. We then practiced our sales  presentation. We went to the office to make our presentation. We sold $30.00 worth of cards.

Period B: We began with our Mindfulness Minutes. We then had our weekly drama activity. Myron won the first game and Nerissa won the second. We then did our circle dance activity.

Period C: Nerissa, Emily and Rebeca went to their new co-op placement at the local Value Village. While they were there they helped clean up the store by doing things like re hanging clothes on hangers and picking up other merchandise that customers had dropped on to the floor. Meanwhile, back in the classroom, the rest of us did a money math activity.

Period D: We did our classroom jobs. We filled in the daily report. We had our daily Mindfulness Mediation sitting.

Note to Parents: Report Cards were sent home today in the students agenda’s. Tomorrow the class will be going to the YMCA. Please ensure students have gym clothes and running shoes.

Daily Report for Monday November 23rd 2015

Weather for Today: Partly Cloudy and Cold…

Period A: We washed our hands and faces while Ms. Lupo supervised us. We then worked on putting together the Christmas Cards. At the end of the period we went to Mr. Jones’s and Mr. Infinity’s classes to deliver the cards.

Period B: We began with our Mindfulness Minutes. We wrote in our weekend journals and then presented our journals to the class.

Period C: We continued to work on our latest ceramic project, Angel Candle holders. Today we made and attached the arms of the angels.

Period D: We did our classroom jobs. We filled in the daily report. We had our daily Mindfulness Mediation sitting.

Daily Report for Thursday November 19th 2015

Weather for Today: Sunny and Warm…

Period A: Ms. Lupo supervised us while we washed our hands and face. We then practiced the presentation we will be giving to the other classes when we sell the Christmas Cards. We then went to Mr. Infinity’s and Mr. Jones’s class to do the presentation. We sold $48.00 worth of cards on our first day !

Period B: We prepped our lunch of Chicken and Dumplings with Garden Salad. Scottie, Emily , Rebeca and Nerissa cut up the garnish for the salad. Fahim washed the lettuce and made up the fruit punch. Shakur peeled the potatoes. Myron and Mark set the table..

Period C: We cleaned up the kitchen/classroom. We then went outside for a walk to take advantage of the glorious weather ! When we got back to class we enjoyed our dessert of fresh baked Cinnamon Buns.

Period D: We did our classroom jobs. We filled in the daily report. We had our daily Mindfulness Mediation sitting.

Daily Report for Wednesday November 18th 2015

Weather for Today: Overcast and Cool….

Period A: Today we began working on our fundraising project. Ms. Lupo gave each of us jobs to do when we will be going around to other classes in the school to sell the Christmas Cards. We then began to color in some pictures that we will be using to make the cards. Ms. Lupo also gave us some homework… we are to bring in the name of the deodorant that we use.

When our class with Ms. Lupo was finished we went on our weekly trip to the YMCA. We took the Scarborough 86 bus to Kennedy station. We then got on the LRT to go to Scarborough Town Centre. When we got to the Y we changed into our swim wear and went swimming. We then got changed and went to the Scarborough Town Centre Food Court to eat our lunch. After lunch we walked to the Freshco store to buy the groceries for tomorrows lunch. We will be having Chicken and Dumplings. When we had finished our shopping we went back to school on the TTC.

When we got back to school we put away the groceries and then had our daily Mindfulness Meditation sitting.

Note to Parents: Tomorrow is our Lunch Program lunch. Students will not need to bring a lunch.

Daily Report for Tuesday November 17th 2015

Weather for Today: Sunny and Cool…

Period A: In class today we watched a video about Residential Schools. We are doing a fundraising activity where we will be selling Christmas Cards to raise money for a Residential Schools Museum. We learned about proper hand washing and fingernail cleaning.

Period B: We began with our Mindfulness Minutes. We had our weekly Drama activity. We played three games of musical chairs. We then did our circle dance activity.

Period C: We had a money math lesson. We used plastic money to learn about the value of different coins and how to add up different amounts.

Period D: We did our classroom jobs. We filled in the daily report. We had our daily Mindfulness Mediation sitting.

Note to Parents: Tomorrow we will be going swimming at the YMCA. Please ensure students have swim wear and a towel.
