Daily Report for Monday March 18th 2019

Weather for Today: Partly Cloudy and Coldish…

High:  4°C           LOW :  -6°C                  P.O.P. : 20%

Period A : We had our Mindfulness Minutes. We then went over our March Break journal assignments. We made some point form notes about our activities over the March Break.

Period B : We went to the Computer Lab in Room 205 where we used Microsoft Word to create a document describing what we had done over the holiday. When we had done we emailed the document to Mr. Wilkens.

Period C: We finished off our Print Making project. When we had finished we took the prints to the display case in the front foyer.

Period D: We went on a Community Walk. We filled in the Daily Report. We had a Mindfulness Meditation sitting.

Daily Report for Friday March 8th 2019

Weather for Today: Sunny and Coldish…

Period A : We had our Mindfulness Minutes. We watched a show on Netflix called A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Period B : We went to a special ISP Community party in the Cafeteria to celebrate the March Break Holiday. We were able to dance and have a great time!

Period C: In Art class today most of were able to finish our Printmaking project. We left class 15 minutes early so we could finish our newspaper route, delivering the Bluffs Monitor Community Newspaper in the local neighbourhood.

Period D: We delivered the papers. We filled in the Daily Report.

Note to Parents: in the Communication Books you will find a March Break Journal booklet. Please help your child work on this during the March Break.

Daily Report for Thursday March 7th 2019

Weather for Today: Partly Cloudy and Cold…

Period A : We had our Mindfulness Minutes. We using the IWB we created a template for a journal we will be making over the March Break.  

Period B : We continued to work on the March Break Journal and When we were done then we went to the CPC-ML to make Chocolate chip and Oatmeal raisin cookies.

Period C: We continued on our printmaking projects. Some of us were able to finish our projects, and we hope to have all the work done tomorrow.

Period D: We went on a Community Walk. When we got back to class we had some Hot Chocolate and cookies. We filled in the Daily Report. We had a Mindfulness Meditation sitting.

Daily Report for Wednesday March 6th 2019

Weather for Today: Partly Cloudy and Cold…

Period A : Ms. Cameron was not at school today, so Fahim and Brandon could not go to their Co-op placement. We had our Mindfulness Minutes. We went to the CPC-ML to prepare our lunch. Rebeca, Amena, Vivian, and Frankie prepped the sweet peppers and celery. Daidrean prepped the onions. Nerushan and Mark set the table. Mark also made the Limeade and melted the chocolate for Kanti’s Vegan birthday cake icing. Fahim cut up the chicken breasts and Daidrean cut up the sausage. Fahim also peeled and cut up the shrimp, as well as cooking the Jambalaya. Matthew and Brandon peeled and grated  the carrots for the Cole Slaw.

Period B : We continued with lunch prep and then we went to the Computer lab where we worked on individual educational programs.

Period C: In Art class today we continued to work on our print making projects. Today we applied the secondary colors to our prints.

Period D: We met in the CPC-ML to celebrate Kanti’s 76^th Birthday by eating a special Vegan Chocolate Cake that Mr. Wilkens had made. We filled in the Daily Report. We had a Mindfulness Meditation sitting.

Daily Report for Tuesday March 5th 2019

Weather for Today: Overcast and Cold….

Period A : Amena and Frankie went to their co-op placement at Giant Tiger. Today they hung up Spring Shorts on hangers for display on the clothing racks. The rest of began the day with our Mindfulness Minutes. We then made a menu and a shopping list. In celebration of Mardi Gras we will be having a Cajun inspired menu of Jambalaya with Hush Puppies and Cole Slaw.

Period B : When Frankie and Amena got back from co-op we went to the local No Frills to buy the groceries for tomorrow’s lunch. When we got back from the shopping trip we went to the CPC-ML to put away the groceries.

Period C: We went to the cafeteria for a special Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday assembly. We learned about the history of Shrove Tuesday and watched 5 teams compete in a Pancake Race.

Period D: We filled in the Daily Report. We had a Mindfulness Meditation sitting. We did our classroom tasks.

Daily Report for Monday March 4th 2019

Weather for Today: Overcast and Cold….

High:  -7°C          LOW : -14°C                 P.O.P. : 30%

Period A : We had our Mindfulness Minutes. We did our Weekend journal activity. We wrote out some point form notes in the classroom. We then went to the Computer Lab in Room 204 where we used the notes to create a journal entry using Microsoft Word. When we had finished we emailed the document to Mr. Wilkens.

Period B : We used the IWB to do a money math activity.

Period C: We continued with our print making activity. Today we added a second colour to our prints.

Period D: We did not go on a Community Walk because of the extreme cold weather. We began the period by practicing our singing of Canada’s national anthem. We filled in the Daily Report. We had a Mindfulness Meditation sitting.

Daily Report for Friday March 1st 2019

Weather for Today: Sunny and Cold…  

High:  -1°C          LOW :  -13°C                P.O.P. : 10%

We had our Mindfulness Minutes. We then went on our field trip to TTC Offices at Davisville Station  We took the Scarborough 86 bus to Kennedy Station We got on the Line 2 subway  westbound to Bloor Yonge Station transferred to the Line 1 subway northbound to Davisville Station We walked to the TTC Offices. At the office we applied for TTC support cards for Rebeca and a replacement card for Fahim. Unfortunately, Mark did not have any ID with him and so we were unable to get a card for him.

When we had finished our business at the TTC office we walked through Mount  Pleasant cemetery to the St. Clair subway station where we got on the Line 1 subway southbound. We traveled to Dundas station and went to eat our lunch in the Food Court at the Eaton Centre.

When we finished eating we got back on the Line 1 subway northbound and transferred to the Line 2 subway at Yonge and Bloor Station. We traveled eastbound to Kennedy Station. We then got on the Scarborough 86 bus and returned to school.  

 We filled in the Daily Report. We had a Mindfulness Meditation sitting.
