In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Mr. Wain’s Art class. Coloured a spring theme sheet. We then went to yoga with Mr. Tipoff’s class.

Period 2: We did some lunch preparation for tomorrow’s lunch program. Math work sheets to do with counting numbers.

Period 3: Personal Hygiene: brushing teeth. Current events and each student presented their chosen newspaper article.

Period 4: Daily report and Meditation!

Tomorrow we will: have lunch program.

Today’s Date: Tuesday April 29 , 2014

The Weather Today was: Cold, rainy day, cloudy

High today is 9*c

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. Glazed our vases and played Spring Bingo!

Period 2: Jessica and Spencer set the table for the Meditation Group lunch. Some students discussed their evening with Mr. Banks. Fire Alarm went off so we left the school and went across the playing field. We stood in the rain under 2 umbrellas. It was cold and wet! When the alarm stopped we returned to class. We started Drama by playing musical chairs. Lunch time!  

Period 3: Brushing teeth and classroom jobs. Circle games for example matching colours and fruits. Daily Report! We then did “King of The Road”.

Period 4: Language exercises and Meditation!

Today’s Date: Friday April 25, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny, cloudy, windy and cold

High today is 7*c

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art: Sanded and glazed our vases.

Period 2: Food preparation for our lunch. Arqum chopped tomatoes and opened a can of beans. Megan and Curtis cut up the carrots. Taylor washed, cut the lettuce up and spun it dry. Julian boiled the water for the hot dogs. Spencer cut up the cucumbers. Jessica set the table. We then enjoyed lunch. We had chocolate and white milk to drink. It was delicious!

Period 3: Brushed teeth and did our classroom jobs! For dessert we had Timbits. Delicious! We sang “King of the Road” and did the Daily Report.  Also, Curtis did the laundry. Taylor and Spencer did the recycling. Meditation!

Period 4: School dance! Megan and others can’t wait!

Tomorrow we will: Early dismissal on Monday.

Today’s Date: Thursday April 24, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny and a gentle breeze, cool but the sun makes it feel warm.

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. We finished yesterday’s colouring work and then made baby chicks out of paper.

Period 2: Drama Musical chairs and Animal charades

Period 3:  Brushing teeth and classroom jobs. We went for a community walk. We stopped at the park next to the Boys and Girls Club. We used the playground equipment and then went for a walk through the forest to the Go Train community. We then walked back to the school.

Period 4: Daily Report and shopping list. Meditation!

Tomorrow we will: be cooking!

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art with Mr. Wain. We coloured cover pages for our folders. We did Yoga with Mr. Tipoff’s class.

Period 2: We watched a video on how we get chocolate to review our trip to the Cadbury Chocolate Factory. We worked on current events page, choosing an article from the Metro Newspaper.

Period 3 Brushed teeth and classroom jobs. Surprise visit from Mr. Tipoff’s class. They brought a card and chocolate cake for Michele’s final day with Mr. Tipoff’s class. Everybody enjoyed eating the cake and thanked Mr. Tipoff for making and bringing the cake!

Period 4: Current Events presentations. Daily Report and Meditation!

Period 1: Trip to the Cadbury Chocolate Factory by T.T.C. Bus and subway train. It was located in the west end of the city near College Street and Dufferin Street.

Period 1: We talked about our evenings. We also did current events.

Period 2: We did our current event folders. Then we went to an awards assembly in the cafeteria.

Period 3 We brushed our teeth and we did classroom duties.

Period 4: We watched the final safety video. Then we had an Easter egg hunt. We went to the spring dance in the cafeteria!

Tuesday we will: Have a field trip to Cadbury chocolate factory. Wear no jewelry, no nail polish, wear long pants. Make sure you bring a packed lunch.

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Discussion about what we did last night and what we ate for supper. We went upstairs to do yoga with Mr. Tipoff’s class.

Period 2: Desk clean out. Drama: We did musical chairs, animal charades and circle dance.

We looked at the newspaper and chose a news story or picture to talk to the class about. We washed our hands before lunch.

Period 3 Personal hygiene: Brushing teeth. Classroom clean up jobs. Daily report and meditation!

Period 4: We had a karaoke party in the video room. Tomorrow is the last day of term 3, and it will be the last day for Ms. Manning to teach this class. We had a lot of fun, and we did a lot of work this term! Next term will be Art with Mr. Wain!

Tomorrow we will:

Have shortened classes in the morning, an awards ceremony and a Spring Dance in the afternoon! Please bring your lunch.

The Weather Today was: Cold with snow, cloudy and windy

Period 1: Each student talked about what they did last night and what they had for supper. We talked about healthy eating. We discussed the foods in the 5 food groups and they named some. They watched a short video on healthy eating. They did an Easter word search.

Period 2: Easter Art work. Some students worked on decorating their paper Easter eggs while others worked on making some more daffodils. Curtis and Jessica set the table for the meditation group. The others continued to do their flowering tree branches by gluing on coloured tissue paper flowers.

Period 3: Brushing teeth and classroom jobs. Daily Report. Meditation!

Period 4: Today we worked on resumes and discussed what a reference is, and the students chose people from school to be their references. They added a reference to their resumes.

Period 1: Talk about our weekend. We then did yoga at 9:30 to 10:15. Washroom break.

Period 2: Smart board: Calendar, shapes and patterns, Music: Head, shoulders, knees and toes. The students then practised writing alphabet letters. Lunchtime.

Period 3:  Personal hygiene, brushing teeth and classroom jobs. Practised singing and actions to “King of the Road”. Daily report! Meditation!!!!

Period 4: We did fire safety strategies. We worked on our safety video.

Today’s Date: Friday April 11,2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny and cool

Period 1:  Brief discussion, then we went to computer lab. We checked the computer for the weather forecast and then we did puzzles.

Period 2: We went to the Art Room. The students worked on finishing their pottery Shamrock vases. The first thing they did was to smooth the sides of their vases. They then made 2 circles the size of a loonie on opposite sides of their vase. Next they scratched the surface of the circles and the backs of their shamrocks. Then they attached the shamrocks using slip on the scratched surfaces. Free time until lunch.

Period 3 Brushed our teeth. Classroom  jobs. Daily report. Meditation!

Period 4: We reviewed our safety video, it’s really looking great! Then we practiced a song. We also played the table top scoring game.

The Weather Today was: Sunny and cool, breeze.

High today is 16*

Period 1: Ms.Danette show us a video of a project she is doing for a course, the Child and Youth program. Mr. Banks showed the class pictures of his family and his pet cats. Lunch preparation: Curtis cut up strawberries, Arqum and Taylor cut up apples, Spencer and Markeisha cut up bananas for a fruit salad. Julian and Jessica set the table.

Period 2: We watched a cyber video on bullying. Arqum and Ms. Danette made a delicious birthday cake for Taylor. The students did 2 math sheets on matching numbers. Some students worked on their Get Well cards for Mr. Wilkens. The students had lunch. They had Alfredo sauce pasta with chicken, carrots and broccoli. Ate a delicious fruit salad. They had cheery fruit juice to drink.

Period 3: We had Taylor’s birthday cake celebration. Everyone sang the Happy Birthday song. Brushing teeth and classroom clean-up.

Period 4: Student/teacher hockey game.
