The Weather Today was:

In Class Today:

Period 1: We prepared our Lunch Program lunch. Taylor and Jessica set the table. Arqum cut up the onions. Julian made the Orange Juice. Curtis and Spencer helped with clean up. We had pirogues with fried onions and bacon as well as Cole Slaw.

Period 2: We continued with the meal prep while some us worked on puzzles on the Promethean Board and regular puzzles as well. Spencer was using the I Pad to take pictures. The whole class helped to make a Thank You card for Ms. Appleton’s class expressing our gratitude for the delicious meal we had on Tuesday. At 11:00 we sat down and ate another delicious meal, one that we made ourselves !

Period 3: We started out by having our dessert, Mr. Wilkens secret recipe Apple Pie. A’la Mode of course, one cannot have Apple Pie without Ice Cream ! We then did our classroom jobs,with an extra job being done by Spencer and Taylor ( otherwise known as Team Red !) who did the recycling. After that we filled in the daily report which left us time for a medium length sit ! 

Period 4: We went to the Computer lab to begin work on our Resume’s. We also began planning our Safety Video project.

The Weather Today was:  

Overcast, COLD,  High: -11 Low: -14 P.O.P: 20%

In Class Today:

Period 1: We did our Drama Activity. First we had games of Musical Chairs. The Winners were Taylor, Megan and Curtis. After Musical Chairs we did the Circle Dance. Next we played Sports Charades then Animal Charades. After the drama activities we cleaned our desks.

Period 2: We went to the Art Room to start our latest ceramic creation. We are going to be making St. Patrick’s Day Vases.

Period 3: We started out by having Cinnamon buns that Taylor brought in yesterday. We did our classroom jobs. We practiced the song we hope to perform at the Year End Assembly, “King of the Road”. We then filled in the daily report. And lastly, we had a skillful sitting.

Period 4: We began by finishing off our Photo Booth Collage.( Stand by for picture of it ! ) Then we went on a Fire Safety Scavenger Hunt. We finished off by starting to plan our Safety Video.

Tomorrow we will: Be making our Lunch Program Lunch. We will be having Perogies….

In Class Today:

Period 1: Taylor and Jessica went to their co-op placement at The Boys and Girls Club. They cleaned the kitchen then had some free time where they were able to use computers. The rest of us made a menu and shopping list for Thursday’s lunch. Then we went to Starfall on the Promethean Board and did some patterning activities.

Period 2: Curtis and Spencer set the table for the  Maplewood Mindfulness Community. After that we did our Current Event activity for the first half of the period then we all went to the Partnership Room where we had a Spaghetti lunch courtesy of Ms. Appleton’s class.

Period 3: We did our classroom jobs. Then we had a little discussion about girlfriend’s, boyfriends and other stuff. We filled in the daily report and had enough time for a short sit.

Period 4: We continued working with the Promethean Board on an workplace safety exercise.

Tomorrow we will: Be walking to No Frills to buy groceries, so we need to dress appropriately for the cold weather.

In Class Today:

Period 1: We had Circle Time where we talked to the class about what we did on the weekend. Since it is a Short Day Monday we then got to watch a movie. The movie we saw was called Akeleah and The Bee. It was about a young girl who won the National Spelling Bee in the USA.

Period 2: Continued with the movie.

Period 3: Continued with the movie.

Period 4: We worked on the Promethean Board on an exercise on workplace safety.

Tomorrow we will: Be having lunch with Ms. Appleton’s class. No need to bring a lunch.

Foggy this morning, this afternoon was cloudy.

In Class Today:

Period 1: First, we talked about what we did last night.

Then, we talked about how we couldn't go to the CBC building today because it was too icy.

Next, we talked more about the Olympics and watched highlights from the gold medal girl’s hockey game last night.

Finally, we went on the Starfall website where we sang songs and played math and calendar games.

Period 2: After our washroom break, we did drama activities such as musical chairs, animal and nursery rhyme charades (thank you Sarah!).

Finally we played BINGO – Arqum won both games!!

Period 3: After lunch we did our classroom jobs and filled out the daily report.

Next, we watched the Olympic men’s hockey game!

Period 4: We watched the last period of the Men’s Semi-final. Go Team Canada! Next we played a table top scoring game with bingo balls and popsicle sticks. We divided into two teams, Team Canada and Team Number One. Skill was shown on both sides, in the end Team Canada won, just like the Men’s hockey game.

Monday we will: Have an early dismissal because it is a staff meeting day.

Cloudy with a chance of rain.

In Class Today:

Period 1: Today we had a supply teacher – Mr. Smith!!

First, talked about what we did the night before.

Then, we took the attendance.

Next we started cooking our lunch. We made tuna and egg salad sandwiches, as well as Caesar salad.

Period 2:

After our break, we worked on our Olympic posters.

At 11:15 we ate our lunch.

After we cleaned up the kitchen.  

Period 3:

After lunch break we brushed our teeth.

Next, we did classroom jobs.

Then we filled out our daily report.

Finally, we went to watch the Olympic girls’ hockey game with Mr. Hazelwood’s class in the Media room.

Period 4: We had the supply teacher Mr. Thompson, for this period. Students made get well cards for Mr. Wilkens and they watched the end of the hockey game. Canada won gold!

In Class Today:

Period 1: Today we had a supply teacher – Mr. Smith!

First, we talked about what we did last night.

Then we went upstairs to do yoga with Mr. Tipoff’s class.

Period 2:  We worked on our Olympic posters and watched the men’s cross country skiing event.

Next, we made a shopping list for Ms. Danette to pick up our food for the lunch program tomorrow.

Finally, we washed our hands and got ready for lunch.

Period 3: Today we had chocolate cake for Megan’s 21^st birthday!

Then, we brushed our teeth.

Next, we did classroom jobs (feed fish, washed dishes, swept, took out the recycling and took down the attendance).

Together, we filled out our daily report.

Next, we had free time.

Finally, we meditated.

Period 4: We finished off our photo booth and added Spencer’s picture. We did an introduction of safety in the community, at school and at home.

Daily Report Monday February, 18th 2014

 The Weather Today was: Snowy, High-1 Low-8 P.O.P: 40%

In Class Today:

Period 1: The students gave 5 brief descriptions about their weekend activities.  The supply Teacher Mr. Khan and the  EA helped them and asked few questions and most of the students gave the answers.

Teacher use the smart board to do some activities on star fall webpage, students did some exercise to the Head and shoulders song, and they also did some telling time activities.   

Period 2:  Two students went to their co-op at the Boys and Girls club near to our school campus. Spencer picked Bobsledding for his Olympic activity. Students watched the history behind the Canadian Bobsledding team.. They worked on their Olympic posters. They prepared the table for the staff lunch time meditation group

Period 3: All the students brush their teeth and finish their classroom jobs. Then students did a drama activity with the co-op Student. Mr. Khan did the Daily Report with the students. Spencer was the leader for meditation.

Period 4:

We reviewed our photos from the photo booth. There are a couple below of Mr. Wilkens and Ms. Danette. Also we delivered the photos to the other classrooms and wrote a thank you note for their participation.

Tomorrow we will:

Have a regular day. In period 4 we will take pictures of Spencer and Sarah because they were not here for our photo booth.

The Weather Today was:

In Class Today:

      Period 1: The class went to the computer lab where we  visited our usual sites then downloaded images from Google

 about the different sports for our Olympic projects.

     Period 2: We all did an exercise that Danette suggested to do

                   for Family Day. We filled in a worksheet about our family. After we had 

filled in the sheet we  presented our papers to the class. 

      Since Taylor and  Jessica brought in some treats Mr. Wilkens                  decided

        that the class could have a little Valentine’s Day Party.We ate some         Cheezies and Chips and watched a video about Valentine’s Day.   

  Period 3:We started practicing a song that Mr. Ellis 

       

wants to sing with us at the year end Assembly. The song is a

Rodger Miller classic entitled “King of the Road. For a first

practice we sounded pretty good, especially Arqum ! We did our

classroom jobs.

 

Period 4: We all got to go to the Maplewood

 Valentine’s Day Dance !!!

The Weather Today was:

In Class Today:

Period 1: We prepared our Lunch Program meal of Spaghetti and Meatballs and Caesar Salad. Julian washed and spun the lettuce for the salad. Arqum and Taylor were very busy. They made some of the meatballs and buttered the garlic bread.

Jessica and Megan set the table and then finished off forming the meatballs. 

Curtis made his special treat of Cherry Jello.

Period 2: We finished off our meal prep. Then we worked on our Olympic Projects by coloring in a picture of the Olympic Rings. At 11:00 we sat down for our meal. It was very tasty ! After we had finished our meal we cleaned up the classroom, without even using the dishwasher !

Period 3: We had our dessert of Vanilla Ice Cream with Fruit Salad, except of course for Curtis, who feasted on the Cherry Jello he had made this morning.

 We then did our classroom jobs and filled in the daily report. We finished off the period with a skillful sitting.

Period 4: Since our Photo Booth was such a great success yesterday we decided to carry on with the project today. Ms. Appleton’s came down to have their picture taken.

Tomorrow we will: Go to the Computer Lab and the Library and also continue work on our Olympic Projects. In the afternoon we will be going to a Valentine Day Dance !

In Class Today:

Period 1: We used the Promethean Board to work on our Olympic Projects. Arqum is following Canada in Curling and we made a schedule for the women and men Curling teams. We also started on a schedule for the sporty Curtis is following, Ice Hockey.

Period 2: We did our current event activity and presented our work to the class.

Period 3: We finished off presenting our Current Event worksheets to the class. We filled in the Daily Report then did our classroom jobs. Then we had a meditation sitting.

Period 4: We are going to begin our long awaited Photo Booth activity. Today we hope to have Ms. Hargraft’s class come down to have their photo’s taken.

Tomorrow we will: Be having our Lunch Program lunch of Spaghetti and Meatballs, Caesar Salad and Garlic Bread.

In Class Today

Period 1:

-      Met the new supply teacher – Mr. Smith! (Hello everyone!)

-      We talked about our Monday evenings and our plans for tonight.

-      We finished picking our Olympic sports, learned about the history of our sports and watched Olympic coverage of the luge and short track speed skating.

  

Period 2:

-      Worked on our math worksheets.

-      Played BINGO and MR. SMITH WON (because we ran out of time).

-      Sarah took Taylor and Jessica to co-op. There, they cleaned windows, cleaned the computer lab and watched Olympic figure skating.  

Period 3:

-      After lunch we brushed our teeth.

-      Finished our classroom jobs.

-      Filled in our daily report.

-      Finished picking our Olympic events and learning about them.

-      We meditated as a class.

Period 4:

-      We practiced our Photo booth.

-      We took turns taking pictures and using the props to pose

-      We talked about good framing and how to use a camera

Tomorrow:

Tomorrow is a regular day.

In period 4 we invited Ms. Hargraft/Mr. Osborne’s class to come down to the cafeteria and see our Photo booth.
