Today’s Date: Friday May 9, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny/cloudy, cool and breezy.

High today is 24*C

Low today is 13*C

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art with Mr. Wain. Students worked on completing their Mother’s Day card!

Period 2: Students did show and tell. Jessica showed us her baby doll Anna. Spencer brought his Arrow DVD. Taylor showed us his Christmas reindeer. Curtis showed us his dancing donkey. Julian showed us his donkey ears. Markeisha brought her very special bear from home. Mr. Banks’ surprise was Burt the giant party monkey with his Hawaiian Shirt and banana! Michelle brought 2 beaver skeleton heads to show us their very sharp cutting teeth. She also told us about how the beaver live and how it can cut down trees with its’ teeth.    

Period 3:  Brushed teeth and did classroom jobs. We played Bingo with Ms. Manning’s class.

Period 4:  Daily report and meditation! The students practiced “King of the Road” on the stage for the final assembly.

Tomorrow we will: Swimming at the YMCA. Happy Mother’s Day!

Daily Report Thursday May 8th 2014

Today’s Date: Thursday May 8, 2014

The Weather Today was: Mostly cloudy, a tiny bit of sunlight, slight wind and cool.

High today is 15*C  

Low today is 12*C

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. Students did Mother’s Day cards and one more coat of glaze on their vases. We returned early to class to prepare for our lunch program.

Period 2: We prepared the toppings for our pizza lunch. Jessica cut up the strawberries. Taylor grated the mozzarella cheese. Markeisha and Julian set the table. Spencer and Jessica peeled and cut the carrots. Arqum cut up the tomatoes. Curtis put the lettuce in the spinner to make the salad. Michelle the co-op student cut up the mushrooms. Taylor cut up some green pepper. Everyone made their own pizza. We took the pizzas to Mr. Speirs class to bake the pizzas. We then had the pizzas to eat. Delicious! We cleaned up the kitchen and did the dishes.

Period 3: Brushed teeth and classroom jobs! We went for our after lunch walk. When we returned, we had our dessert of Mr. Wilkens homemade apple pie with vanilla frozen yogurt, pineapple and strawberries. Curtis had Cherry Jello!

Period 4: Daily Report and Meditation!  Students practiced singing “King of the Road” on stage, for the end of the year assembly. Surprise visit from Mr. Wilkens.

Daily Report Wednesday May 7th 2014

Today’s Date: Wednesday May 7th, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny/cloudy, cool with light breeze.

High today is 12*C

Low today is 7*C

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1:  Art class with Mr. Wain. Students did a spring colouring sheet. Students did Yoga class with Mr.Tipoff’s class.

Period 2: Lunch Menu choices for Thursday’s Pizza lunch!  Students chose Pita Bread to put toppings on! Toppings chosen for pizza were: tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, olives, green peppers. Milk and apple juice were chosen for a drink, Dessert is cherry Jello, strawberries, pineapple and Vanilla Yogurt.

Period 3 Brushed teeth and classroom jobs! Shopping trip to No Frills!

Period 4: Returned from Shopping. We went to auditorium to practice “King of the Road” on stage with Mr. Ellis directing! Returned to class to get ready to go home.  

Daily Report Tuesday May 6th 2014

Today’s Date: Tuesday May 6, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny, Light breeze, a few clouds,cool.

High today is 14*C  

Low today is 5*C   

Season: Spring

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. The students finished their Chicks so they can display them in the classroom. They also glazed the inside of their vases.  

Period 2: Markeisha and Jessica set the table for the teachers’ Meditation Group. Drama class! We did musical chairs and circle games! We went to computer lab and did jigsaw puzzles. Then we got ready for lunch.  

Period 3 Classroom jobs and brushed teeth. We went on a community walk to the Go Train station and back to Maplewood.

Period 4: We sang “King of the Road” and did the Daily Report! Meditation!

Tomorrow we will: Walking to No Frills!

Today’s Date: Monday May 5, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny/cloudy, light breeze, cool-warm in the sunlight!

High today is 14*c  

Low today is 5*c

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: T.T.C. bus to YMCA at Scarborough Town Centre. We ran the track and did the tred mill machines and exercise bicycle machines.

Period 2: Walk to Scarborough Town Centre and ate lunch in Food Court.

Period 3: Walk around the Mall and window shopped for the upcoming Prom-Graduation Dance!

Period 4: Return to Maplewood by the LRT to Kennedy Station and then by TTC Bus. Meditation and Home Time!

The Weather Today was: Windy, cloudy and some rain, cool

High today is 13*c

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. Finished spring colouring. Went to Yoga with Mr. Tipoff’s class.

Period 2: Computer lab! The students worked on doing jig saw puzzles. Returned to class and practiced their letters.

Period 3: Brushed teeth and classroom jobs. Played bingo with Ms. Manning’s Class.

Period 4: Cafeteria presentation for Graduating Class about the Prom! Meditation!

Tomorrow we will:  Go to the YMCA.

Today’s Date: Thursday May 1, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny/cloudy, Light wind, cool

High today is 14*c

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

                                   Mr. Banks

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. Finished up yesterdays’ spring art colouring. We left Mr. Wains class early in order to prepare for our weekly lunch. Taylor cut up a red pepper, Arqum cut up a purple onion, Spencer grated cheese, Megan cut up the ham, Markeisha, Julian and Jessica set the table.

Period 2: We then loaded everything on a cart and went to the M.E. kitchen to make our omelettes. Each student made their own omelette choosing their own toppings for example, they could choose cheese, mushrooms, red and orange peppers, tomatoes, purple onions and ham. We then returned to our class room to eat a delicious lunch. We could make an omelette wrap if we wanted. We had either white or chocolate milk to drink.

Period 3: Brushed teeth and classroom jobs. We went for a walk in the community.

Period 4: We had Jell-O with mixed fruit for dessert. We did the daily report.
