Daily Report for Friday January 31st 2020

Weather for Today: Overcast and Cold…

High:  -1°C           LOW :  -2°C                   P.O.P. :  30%

Period A: We began the New Term by meeting in our Room S-9. We had our Morning Mindfulness Minutes. WE talked a little about what the new Term will look like. We then went to the Computer Lab, the good one in Room 204 where we continued work on our Valentine’s Day research project. Daidrean had more or less finished his work so he accepted an assignment from Ms. Nagy, our V.P. to check which computers were functioning appropriately or not.

Period B: For the first part of the period we continued to work in the Computer Lab. We then went to the CPC-ML where we used up the last of the pancake batter that was left over from our Brunch Feast yesterday.

Period C: We began our new Level 3 Group Co-op experience by going out into the neighbourhood to deliver the Bluffs Monitor Community Newspaper. Today Daidrean and Frances were in charge of the delivery. The whole team did a fantastic job. Here are some pictures of our new program in action…

Period D: We went to our new Prep Time Class in the Gym. Our new teacher, Mr. Anil Persaud spoke to us about the procedures, protocols and expectations for the class.

Daily Report for Tuesday January 28^th  2020

Weather for Today: Overcast and Cold…

Period A: Frances and Aaliyah went to their Co-op placement at Giant Tiger where they put men’s pants on hangers. Khina and Aaisha wrote the menu on the whiteboard. Then they set up the staff dining room.  

Period B: We met in the CPC-ML where we began with our Morning Mindfulness Minutes. We then began the food prep for tomorrow’s Breakfast for Lunch Feast which we will be sharing with Ms. Barwell’s class. 

Period C: We continued to work on preparing the feast for tomorrow.

Period D: We had a discussion about the Wuhan Coronavirus.  We filled in the Daily Report. We used the whiteboard to work on our puzzle solving skills.

Daily Report for Monday January 27th 2020

Weather for Today: Overcast and Cool…

High:  2°C             LOW :  1°C           P.O.P. :  30%

Period A: Khina had her first day at her Co-op placement. She is working at a store at Cedarbrae Mall ( more on this later). The rest of us went to food school where we were kept busy as beavers! We began by helping Ms. Smith unload groceries from her truck. Frances wrote the menu on the whiteboard. Aaliyah set up the staff dining room. Deandre cleaned some ‘shrooms with a Mushroom brush. Frances and Aaisha prepped some fruit for fruit salad.

Period B: We had our Morning Mindfulness Minutes. We then did our Weekend Journal activity. When we had done writing in our journal we presented our work to the class.

Period C: We went to No Frills to buy the groceries for our Breakfast for Lunch Feast we will be having on Wednesday.

Period D: WE got back from shopping and put away the groceries in the CPC-ML. We filled in the Daily Report.

Weather for Today: overcast and cloudy

Period A: We are at food school Deandre, Khina and Aaliyah did the dining table Frankie and Aaisha did the menu boards all of us make tarts.  

Period B: We did the yoga then body scan we went for lunch.

Period C: We came back to the classroom then went to the CPC-ML(AKA ME Kitchen) to celebrate Aaisha b-day. Then we had cake and ice-cream and we made Chocolate Chip Cookies .

Period D: Frances filled in the Daily Report, with a little help from her friends.

Daily Report for Thursday, January 23rd 2020

Weather for Today: Partly cloudy and Coldish…

Period A: Frankie and Aaisha wrote the menu on the whiteboard. Deandre, Khina and Aaliyah set up the staff dining room. Frankie and Aaisha prepared some pizza garnish. Deandre and Aaliyah grated the cheese for the pizza.

Period B: We met in CPC-ML where we began with our Morning Mindfulness Minutes. We then prepared our Lunch Program Lunch of Hamburgers and French Fries with Cole Slaw.

Period C: We met back in the CPC-ML where we cleaned up and iced Aaisha’s Birthday Cake which Mr. Wilkens forgot all about and we will have tomorrow.

Period D: We went for a Community Walk. We filled in the Daily Report. We had a Mindfulness Meditation sitting.

Weather for Today: Overcast and COLD!!!

Period A:In Food school today Frances wrote the menu on the whiteboard. Khina washed the Breakfast Club dishes and set up the Staff Dining Room all by herself!

Period D: We filled in the Daily Report. We practiced our song for the Festiva Gathering. We had a Mindfulness Meditation sitting.  

Note to Parents: Field Trip to Scarborough Town Centre tomorrow. Students will need a bag lunch or $ to buy lunch.

Daily Report for Tuesday January 7th 2020

Weather for Today: Cold and Sunny

Period A: Deandre and Aaisha put icing on the chocolate muffins. Frances and Aaliyah went to Co-Op at Giant Tiger. Frances started the Menu Board (inside) and Aaisha did the Menu Board (outside). Deandre did the breakfast club dishes. Khina and Daidrean were late to Food School and they helped bring boxes inside from the delivery truck. Four of us also made burger buns.

Period B: We had our Morning Mindfulness Minutes. We did the “News Paper” task and presented to the class. The last thing we did was Math work.

Period C: We did IXL Math and then had 15 minutes of free time on the computers. Now, we are doing our agenda.

Period D: We went for a walk in the school. Afterwards we did meditation again, puzzles, and the bucket game.

Weather for Today: Sunny and Cold…

Period A: In Food School today Aaisha had a very busy day! She wrote the menu on the whiteboard, she set up the staff dining room and made some icing. Daidrean was kept busy dismantling a shelving unit.

Period B: We had our Morning Mindfulness Minutes. We then did our Weekend reports. We wrote in our journals some of the things we had done over the weekend.

Period C:  We discussed an upcoming research project we will be doing on the holiday named after St. Valentine. We then began to prepare decorations to be used on the corkboard that we will display the project on.

Period D: We went for a Community Walk. We filled in the Daily Report. We had a Mindfulness Meditation sitting.
