Period 1: Exercise and swim program at the YMCA.

 Period 2:  Lunch in the Food Court at Scarborough Town Center!

Period 3: After lunch, we walked around the Mall looking at different stores. We returned to Maplewood H.S. by L.R.T. (Light Rail Transit) and by TTC. Bus.

Period 4: Daily Report and “King of the Road” practice!

Tomorrow we will:   “PARTY”    Bring Snacks !

Today’s Date: Friday June 20, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny, very light cloud, warm and light breeze

High today is 24*C  

Low today is 12*C   

Season: Spring! Summer begins on Saturday June 21 (Tomorrow).

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

                                   Mr. Banks

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. Students did drip paint art and then they went to yoga outside at 9:30 with Mr. Tipoff’s class.

Period 2:  We continued with Current Events from yesterday Metro Newspaper as we were unable to complete them yesterday. Each student presented their chosen picture and article. We put icing on the cupcakes that Mrs. Banks baked for the class as a treat. We did enough cupcakes for our class and Ms. Appleton’s class to have this afternoon after Bingo. Lunch Time!

Period 3:  Brushing teeth and classroom jobs. We set up for Bingo but most students had to go to the cafetorium for a rehearsal for the final assembly.

Period 4: Daily Report and Meditation!

Tomorrow we will: Enjoy the weekend! See you Monday!

Today’s Date: Thursday June 19, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny, clear blue skies, warm and pleasant temperature.

High today is 24*C  

Low today is 12*C   

Season: Spring! Summer begins on Saturday June 21.

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

                                   Mr. Banks

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. The students continued to do paint dripping art work. They also, did dot to dot (1 to 40) to make a picture which they colored!

Period 2: Current Events: The students chose an event from the Metro Newspaper that they wanted to talk about. It was then time to walk to the Swiss Chalet Restaurant for the students Graduation lunch! Everyone enjoy their lunch celebration!

Period 3: We then walked back to school. On the way back, we dropped into Sir Robert L. Borden B.T.I. to visit the Principal Mr. Knight who left Maplewood at the end of January. We were able to talk to him for a little while. When we returned to Maplewood, students brushed their teeth. We practiced King of The Road and did the Daily Report!

Period 4: At the beginning of the Daily Report, there was a fire alarm. Also, during the Daily Report, Ms. Reid came in to have Julian practice and choose the Michael Jackson music for his stage performance on the last day of School. Home time!

The Weather Today was: Cloudy and rainy, Warm and humid!

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art class with Mr.Wain. Students continued paint dripping art work! At 9:30, we did yoga outside with Mr. Tipoff’s class.

Period 2: We did Drama. Mr. Banks crowned Ms. Danette, Princess for the Day! Mr. Banks wore his King’s crown from Father’s Day. We played musical chairs. Whoever won the game got to wear a crown as well. Then we did an animal pantomimes guessing game. Lunch Time!

Period 3: Personal Hygiene: Brushed Teeth and did classroom jobs! We went for a walk to the park by the Boys And Girls Club. Students played on the equipment. We then returned to Maplewood to do the

Tomorrow we will: Special Day tomorrow! The class will be going out for lunch! A Surprise!

Today’s Date:  Tuesday June 17, 2014

The Weather Today was: Cloudy and rainy, rumbling thunder, there is to be a violent thunder/rain storm later today! Lots of rain and strong winds! Warm and humid!

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art class with Mr.Wain Mr. Wain read a storey about a dog named Gloria and an officer named Buckle. It was a story about safety tips in the community. The students also did some Drip Painting Art Work!

Period 2: Curtis, Spencer and Jessica set the table for the Meditation Lunch. We then worked on a Feelings and Emotions worksheet identifying facial expressions. At 11:00 o’clock, we went to computers. Lunch time!

Period 3: Brushed teeth and classroom jobs! We went for a walk around the school hallways as it was raining outside. We returned to class and did the Daily Report!

Period 4: Watched a short Film., watched a play in the cafeteria, meditation and home time!

Today’s Date: Monday June 16, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny, blue skies and light cloud, warm and humid, very light breeze.

Period 1:  We went to the YMCA by TTC and the RT train for the exercise program. We walked around the track and then went to work out on the Treadmills.

Period 2: At 11:30 we went to the Scarborough Town Center’s Food Court for lunch.

Period 3: After lunch we walked around Town Center looking at thing in the store windows. We returned to Maplewood by RT and TTC Bus.

The Weather Today was: A little sunny but mostly cloudy, warm, light breeze.

High today is 23*C

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. Students finished their Father’s Day card and brought their green ceramic vases decorated with two Shamrocks back to class. Ms.Danette wrapped up the vases  for the students to take home with their cards. We then went on the Scavenger Hunt walk down to the Guildwood area answering questions for the questionnaire. We then returned to school for the Barbeque Lunch!

Period 2: Barbeque Lunch!

Period 3: The students did Field Day Game Activities on the play field until 2:00 o’clock.

Today’s Date:  Tuesday June 10, 2014

The Weather Today was: Sunny and hazes, hot, light breeze.

High today is 24*C

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

                                   Mr. Banks

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. The student coloured Father Days cards. They also had a special Chai Tea, short bread and lit their special Japanese Lanterns which they made!

Period 2: Five students went to Kazoo Practice. Two students who came to class began setting the table for the Meditation Lunch! At eleven O’clock we went upstairs to the computer lab in room 205. Most of the students did Star Fall and Arqum did a reading program. He can read very well! Lunchtime!

Period 3: Brushed teeth and classroom jobs. We then went to the East View Park to play on the equipment. Then we walked back to Maplewood High School!

Period 4: Daily Report and Meditation!

Tomorrow we will: At 12:30, we will be going to the Athletic Award Assembly. Please bring in a donation for the food bank and get a chocolate chip cookie!

In Class Today: Mr. Banks                              

Today we went to the Toronto Police Museum with Mr. Smith’s class. It was a great deal of fun and quite informative as well. Markeisha got to be put in the cell; she even got to wear an Orange Prison shirt. Arqum got to go in a Police Car. Curtis got to sit on a Police Motorcycle. The rest of the class all got to see many interesting exhibits.

After the museum we went to the Eaton Centre Food Court to eat lunch. After lunch we got on the subway to go back to school.

Tomorrow we will: Be having our regular Tuesday routine.

The Weather Today was: Sunny with some cloud, warm, light breeze.

In Class Today: Supply Teacher

                                   Mr. Banks

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. The students played Bingo. At 9:30 they did Yoga with Mr. Tipoff’s Class.

Period 2: Jessica and Markeisha set the table for a pizza lunch. The Olympians had Gatorade to drink with their pizza and ice cream for dessert. The students did Drama. They played Musical chairs and animal charades. We went to the ME kitchen to bake 4 pizzas and while they were baking the students worked on their writing skills. When the pizza was done we return to the class to have a Champions lunch.   

Period 3:  We played Bingo with Ms. Manning’s Class. After they left we had ice cream for dessert. Ms. Danette says Mr. Banks eats too much and that we don’t have any more time to eat! She said that I had to get the Daily Report done.

Period 4: Daily Report and Meditation! Congratulation to our Olympians!

Tomorrow we will: Class trip to the Police museum.

The Weather Today was: Sunny and cloudy, possibility of rain, hot, high humidity

Period 1: Art class with Mr. Wain. Students did colouring by number. Arqum co loured the Dragon.

Period 2: Star Fall Activities using the Smart Board. They took turns tracing the geometric shapes patterns through the maze. We went to computer class in room 205. They did different jig saw puzzles. Arqum did tongue twisters on Star Fall.com. Lunch Time!

Period 3: Brushed teeth and class room jobs. We then went on our community walk.

Period 4: Daily report and Mediation.

Today’s Date: Monday June 2, 2014

The Weather Today was: This morning  was sunny with blue sky and a few clouds, this afternoon it is over cast (cloudy),very warm.

Period 1: On route to the YMCA.

Period 2: YMCA for exercise program and swimming. Students had a great time playing tag in the pool. We went for lunch at the Food Court.

Period 3: After lunch, we walked around the mall. We visited THE BODY SHOP to check out the nice smelling products and to get some prices on certain items. Students enjoyed samples of tea at David Tea. We returned to Maplewood by light rail and bus.

Period 4: Meditation and home time.
